Every Tuesday at 5:30 PM, the Kalamazoo Herd gathers for a running and walking session.
All runs start from Gazelle Sports, with multiple routes they're all designed for up to 6 miles as an out-and-back, you can turn around at any point that suits your comfort level or previous experience. The first Tuesday of the month (May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2) offers an opportunity to switch it up and do a track workout.
The group typically gathers at a fantastic local restaurant afterwards. It's the perfect opportunity to refuel with delicious food, quench your thirst with refreshing drinks, and socialize!
TIME: 6:00PM Meet, 6:15 Ride
WHO: Humans with a road bike
LOCATION: Downtown Version of Pedal
WHAT TO EXPECT:
FYI: Bicycling is inherently dangerous. You might be injured or killed on the ride. By joining the ride you assume those risks. If you don't assume the risks, don't ride.
Last minute ride updates -- like cancellation due to weather -- will be posted on the events page.
These are rides, not races. Segment hunting is not an approved activity on Pedal's rides. Similarly, we stop for stop signs. We obey the law. We treat our motorized fellow road users with respect. And we have a great time.
Below are links to a couple of routes we do. Please don't take these as total gospel. We'll modify the route based on road work and desire of the group.
Short North Route
Short Hilly Route
TIME: 7:15 pm
WHO: Casual Riders. Social people. Maybe you.
LOCATION: Romence store
These are fun, casual rides. We'll ride, stop for a snack and ride back to the shop. It'll get dark! Lights are required!
Dates are 6/13, 6/27, 7/11, 7/25, 8/8, 8/22 and 9/5.

Indiana's longest-running triathlon is back for its 45th year! Yes, you read that correctly: 45 years!
We proudly announce that the LaPorte triathlon is now part of the Tris4Health events family. We cannot thank the Northwest Indiana Triathletes enough for trusting us to continue this event, hopefully for another 45 years.
So, what's going to change now that Tris4Health is involved? Rest assured, not much. You'll see a few small things, like adding an aquabike category and removing the duathlon relays. These changes are designed to enhance the athlete experience and appeal to a broader group of athletes. While we hate to see the duathlon relays go, we have found they appeal to a tiny segment of multisport athletes. In contrast, adding the aquabike category helps bring new people to the sport, and the duathlon relay athletes can still participate by signing up in our triathlon relay category. If you can't find a swimmer (it's always a swimmer), reach out and we will be happy to play Relay Team Tinder for you!
Our goal is to take an already outstanding event and elevate it slightly with increased branding and awareness, reaching into nearby states such as Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana.

Ugly Dog Gravel Tri started in 2018 as a swim – gravel bike – trail run event. Your race will start with a beautiful swim in Portage Lake. Then you’ll get ready for the bike leg, but leave the expensive tri bike and skinny tires home. Grab a road bike, fat tire, mountain bike, whatever is going to take you through the scenic gravel roads of Waterloo’s glacial park. Once you are back to transition, finish off your race with a wooded trail run.
